ENS Expiry Checker
Look up a second-level .eth registration expiry and onchain grace period, with a live Ethereum block and timestamp.
Read the current ENSv1 registration expiry for a second-level .eth name, including its onchain grace period and the block used for the check.
Look up the registration term
Enter a complete second-level name such as nick.eth. The checker reads the label’s expiry and grace-period constant from the ENSv1 Base Registrar on Ethereum Mainnet. It compares those values with the timestamp of the same block.
Subnames such as member.project.eth and issued names such as yourname.base.eth follow different expiry arrangements. This tool rejects those inputs rather than presenting the parent’s registration term as the subname’s own expiry.
Read the status in context
| Status | What it establishes |
|---|---|
| Registration active | The registrar expiry is later than the checked block time. |
| Within grace | The expiry has passed, but the checked block is at or before the expiry plus the registrar’s current grace period. |
| Past grace | The checked block is beyond the reported grace boundary. Review registration eligibility and any premium in the official app. |
| No expiry record | The ENSv1 registrar returned zero. This does not establish that the label is eligible or available to buy. |
| Lookup incomplete | Current registrar information was not verified. Retry or inspect the official app. |
Turn the result into a maintenance plan
Save the result and compare the complete name in the official ENS App. To choose a review date, use our UTC expiry planner with the returned timestamp. The ownership calculator can help budget the intended renewal period.
Renewals add time to the previous expiry. If a name is already expired, a short extension may still leave the new expiry in the past. Review the final date before confirming any renewal. This checker does not submit transactions or create reminders.
Version and availability limits
The deployment documentation currently distinguishes active ENSv1 registration from ENSv2 contracts deployed ahead of launch. This tool explicitly reads the ENSv1 Base Registrar. Its deployment assumptions need review when production registration changes.
An expiry record is not a sale listing, price quote or guarantee of future registration rights. The tool does not identify a holder’s full permissions, wrapped-subname controls or trademark rights. Use the renewal guide for the lifecycle and the official app for the available action.
