How to Sell an Unstoppable Web3 Domain
List an eligible Unstoppable Web3 domain, understand seller fees and Sales Balance, and verify the ownership handover and payout.
Sell an Unstoppable Web3 domain by checking its marketplace eligibility, setting a listing and understanding how the proceeds become withdrawable. A listed price is an invitation to buy. It is not a completed sale, a valuation or a promise that a buyer will appear.
Record the asset, holding network, acquisition costs and the actual settlement route before listing.
- 01Check eligibility and prepare the name
- 02Publish the intended price and offer settings
- 03Reconcile the sale and withdrawal
Check which marketplace route applies
Unstoppable’s current listing instructions support Web3 names on Polygon. They also cover traditional DNS inventory, which has different transfer and renewal rules. Confirm that the asset is an eligible Web3 name, rather than applying a DNS listing example to it.
The marketplace FAQ allows eligible listings held in either its custody arrangement or a self-custody wallet. Its separate offers documentation describes additional requirements for receiving and accepting offers, including a verified self-custody wallet and email. Do not assume that every listing feature has identical eligibility.
Keep the exact full name, network and holding wallet beside your cost record. If an interface does not offer the intended action, investigate eligibility through official help instead of moving the asset based on an unsolicited support message.
Prepare records and the buyer-facing description
Explain what is for sale: the exact domain asset, not an established business, trademark clearance or guaranteed app compatibility. Avoid treating another listing’s asking price as proof of a completed comparable sale.
Unstoppable’s data-retention guidance says marketplace sales remove specified profile and receiving information, while some direct transfers can retain it. Review and clear personal records before listing where appropriate, and verify the post-sale result. The transfer guide provides a handover checklist.
Create the listing
- Open My Domains through the official account interface.
- Select the intended domain or domains using their checkboxes.
- Choose Actions, then List for Sale.
- Set the price for each selected asset and review the complete identifiers.
- Review minimum-offer or disabled-offer settings separately from the fixed price.
- Inspect the estimated proceeds and confirm the intended listing.
- Reopen the public listing and check its name, price and status.
These steps follow the provider’s current listing documentation. They are not a claim that we listed an asset, signed a transaction or tested your account.
Separate the seller fee from profit
The listing instructions show a 3% service fee. In a hypothetical $250 completed sale, that fee is $7.50 and the modeled proceeds are $242.50. With a $100 acquisition cost, the difference is $142.50 before other costs. This arithmetic is not a suggested asking price or expected return.
Include transaction costs, renewals or services actually paid, and any other selling costs in a consistent currency. With no sale, receipts are $0 and the acquisition spend remains unrecovered. Use the full cost checklist before deciding that an advertised spread is profit.
Understand Sales Balance and withdrawal
The current listing guide directs proceeds to Sales Balance. The withdrawal guide describes identity verification and a 10-day hold before withdrawal eligibility. It lists different bank and token routes depending on the seller’s circumstances. Check the current account requirements and supported destination before counting a balance as money received.
A Polygon domain and an ERC20 withdrawal option refer to different parts of the process. Do not infer the withdrawal network from the network holding the asset. Older purchase or offer documentation also describes direct USDC settlement for particular flows; inspect the actual route presented for your sale.
Sales Balance, Account Balance and promotional Credits are separate categories. The balance guide says conversion from Sales Balance to Account Balance cannot be reversed. Review that choice before converting a withdrawable balance into spending balance.
Reconcile the completed handover
- Record the actual sale price, fee and credited balance.
- Confirm the asset moved through the marketplace’s intended handover.
- Check the remaining public records and any recipient follow-up.
- Record the withdrawal request separately from the final receipt.
- Match the actual receipt to the correct asset, network or bank route.
Use independent account navigation for offers and sale notices. A message asking for a separate activation fee is not evidence of a legitimate sale. Our scam checklist helps separate real account state from a persuasive message.
Finished when: the completed sale, fees, ownership handover and actual receipt are reconciled, with unsold inventory still counted separately.
