ENS Name Not Showing? A Troubleshooting Checklist

A focused checklist for primary-name records, app support and caching.

First identify the symptom: does the name fail to resolve to an address, or does an app display an address instead of your name?

Check the configuration

Confirm the address associated with the name and the primary name associated with the wallet. Make sure you are checking the intended wallet, name and network.

Check the application

A correct configuration can still appear differently in apps with different support or cached records. Compare the official ENS lookup with the specific application exhibiting the issue.

Change one thing at a time

Record what you observed, check the official troubleshooting instructions and verify the transaction status before making further edits. Repeated changes can make it harder to identify which setting caused the problem.

Follow the symptom

What you seeFirst question
The name does not produce an addressIs the intended address record configured and readable?
An app still shows a hexadecimal addressDoes the wallet have the expected primary name, and does this app read it?
One app differs from anotherAre their lookup methods, network support or cached records different?
A recent change is absentHas the change confirmed, and is the app showing current data?

Keep a short diagnostic note

Record the name, wallet address, network, app, exact symptom and time checked. Add the relevant transaction reference if you changed a record. This gives you a reliable starting point when consulting official support.

When to stop changing settings

If the official lookup shows the expected configuration and only one app differs, investigate that app's behavior before submitting more record changes. Recheck one clear hypothesis at a time.
