Freename: names, tools and royalty claims

Understand Freename Web3 names, custom TLDs, optional recurring charges and royalty conditions.

Custom Web3 extensions, optional registration royalties and the costs behind the pitch.

Separate the asset and the service. Owning a Web3 TLD, buying a royalty license and running a reseller page are different purchases.

What Freename offers

Freename markets Web3 second-level names and custom top-level names. In this context, a Web3 TLD is an extension in its naming system. Check resolution in your intended application before treating it as an everyday website address.

What can keep costing money?

The royalty page advertises a $99 annual license and up to a 50% share when eligible names are registered under your TLD. Those are provider-published terms, not earnings we have independently received. Confirm any additional tools in your quote.

The provider's help center describes no renewal for most of its Web3 names, with .CHZ as an exception. That statement about a name does not remove separate annual service charges.

When does a royalty become payable?

Freename's terms link entitlement to the applicable program conditions and the end of the relevant refund period. They describe requesting payment from the account balance to the associated wallet. We have not tested a withdrawal.

The useful questions

  • How much does this exact TLD cost before the annual tools?
  • Which registrations qualify, and how do coupons affect the calculation?
  • What costs recur if no buyers arrive?
  • What are the payout conditions and available records of completed registrations?

Examine the earning models and hypothetical sales hurdle, compare costs, or inspect current documented offers.
